Check out the incredible work of one student at PS 396K (District 75 school in Brooklyn) during AH Teaching artist Mansa Mussa’s Saturday visual arts program. Mansa helped her create a beautiful multimedia butterfly piece with hand drawings and stickers. Her teachers and Mansa have not heard her speak before, but she said, “Butterfly,” to the astonishment of everyone in the room while admiring her completed work! She even started talking in complete sentences! This year we have also been awarded an Arts for ELL and SWD grant through the NYC DOE Office of Arts and Special Projects.
